Four Seasons The Westcliff
Transfer to the airport for your flight to the Madikwe Game Reserve, South Africa’s premier malaria-free Big Five safari destination, is known for its endangered African predators, diverse birdlife and landscapes. This afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in the reserve, keeping your eyes (and camera) peeled for some of Africa’s most iconic species: lion, elephant or the elusive cheetah. Afterwards, settle into your luxurious family villa in the heart of the African bush.
Morukuru Owner’s House | Meals: BLD
Enjoy two thrilling days exploring Madikwe, one of South Africa’s largest Game Reserves. Your dedicated safari team comprising an experienced guide and tracker will introduce children safely and comfortably to the wonders of their backyard, the African bush. Madikwe is renowned for its exceptional wildlife, including elephant, lion, buffalo, rhino and leopard.
There are multiple activities on offer from your accommodation. Keen anglers might enjoy a guided freshwater fishing safari on the Marico River. Budding musicians may wish to experience an all-ages African drumming workshop. Or perhaps venture into the kitchen for a relaxed cooking class. Galaxy lovers can sleep-out under the stars, while parents might like to indulge in one of the many spa treatments for some R&R.

Journey to Marataba, an enormous section of the Marakele National Park, teeming with wildlife. Marataba Safari Lodge epitomises bushveld opulence. Children enjoy their own en-suite bedrooms kitted out with toys and games, gown and slipper sets, hot-chocolate mugs, and stories placed onto their pillows at night (age appropriate).
After settling in, enjoy your first afternoon game drive. Africa’s five iconic species — lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo — are all present here, including the endangered black rhino in numbers seldom seen in the southern hemisphere as well as the world’s largest colony of endangered Cape Vulture.

Enjoy two days at Marataba with morning and afternoon game viewing activities. Venture out on game drives with professional field guides, bush walks, sunset water safaris, or a night under the stars in your very own treehouse. Whether your child is shy or outgoing, creative, sporty or adventurous, the Mack & Madi Safari Club has all bases covered with specially organised kids’ activities and excursions.

This morning, fly back to Johannesburg where you will board a flight to Cape Town. Settle into your luxury accommodation, an ideal base from which to explore the city, surrounding beaches, mountains and winelands. More Quarters is also the perfect place for families to immerse themselves in Cape culture and ‘live like a local’.

Wake in ‘the Mother City’, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Meet your local A&K guide for a full day family adventure exploring Cape Town, beginning with the famed cable car to the summit of Table Mountain. Whether it is covered in a tablecloth of clouds or showing off against a crisp blue sky, Table Mountain is always spectacular. Your guide will deftly steer you away from the crowds to the best viewpoints.
Continue to Sea Point Promenade to explore on cruiser bicycles. Ride past the 11 art installations learning about various subjects from Rhino conservation to Nelson Mandela. Lunch is at one of Cape Town's hot spots where the kids can make their own pizzas and bread. End the day at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens where you can wind through the tree canopy, and hike through the forest on the slopes of the Table Mountain range.

Make your way along the Cape Peninsula and the False Bay coastline to the Surfers Mecca of Muizenberg. From here, drive along the coast towards Simon’s Town in search of penguins. If the weather is favourable, test out your skills on a stand-up paddle board. Then, continue to the Cape of Good Hope where you’ll explore secluded beaches, shipwrecks and unique wildlife in a way that is absorbing for children of all ages. Seek out ostrich, baboon, mountain zebra, bontebok and tortoise. Lunch will be a delicious wild picnic on the rocks at a secluded beach with an opportunity to explore the rock pools. Wind down at Noordhoek Farm Village where you can indulge delicious artisanal ice cream.

Enjoy a full day discovering the Cape Winelands, exploring child-friendly estates in a fun and engaging way for everyone. Partake in a wine tasting in the refurbished Manor House; signature experiences are presented from a private room. Meanwhile, children can explore the Tree House, ride on the pump track or play ball games on the lawns. Teenagers can enjoy mountain bike trails or a light hike with the guide on the farm. Lunch is on a family-friendly wine estate, followed by a chocolate tasting at a local chocolatier. Wind down with a stroll in the expansive gardens of Babylonstoren, visit OINK farm, and savour a wine tasting while your children play in the gardens with toy bags.

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Victoria Falls and your lodge on the Zambezi River. Uninterrupted panoramic views of African sunsets and exceptional wildlife viewing makes this the ideal place from which to explore Victoria Falls. This afternoon watch the sunset over the Zambezi River whilst you cruise by boat and enjoy a sundowner drink with snacks.

The splendour and magnitude of mighty Victoria Falls is a site and experience not to be missed. This morning head into town and visit the mighty Victoria Falls.
Spend the rest of the day exploring the national park your way. Animal sightings are frequent from your lodge, and the remote location on the river enable fantastic birdwatching year-round. Enjoy game drives, river safaris, fishing, guided walks, or perhaps venture further afield to explore the town. Return to the lodge mid-afternoon.
Your second day at Victoria Falls River Lodge is spent at leisure.
