Discover to the frozen north, where you’ll get to choose between surreal winter landscapes and endless summer light in one of the most beautiful countries on Earth.
The ultimate retreat in both winter and summer, a journey to Finland offers a little something for everyone.
The north of Finland is quietly striking. Countless lakes, thickly forested plains and snowy peaks draw visitors from all over the world. In winter, the skies are pure and crisp. Our guides can take you to the solitary northern reaches of Lapland, where you’ll see the strange and mysterious aurora borealis.
Further south, Finland’s cities offer a grand mix of impressive architecture and pervasive culture. Their modern architecture complements their Art Nouveau buildings and blend seamlessly with traditional Finnish housing. Helsinki – the country’s coastal capital – has a young, vibrant culture and attracts visitors all year round. Meanwhile the ski resort of Levi offers a more peaceful experience. If you’re lucky, pop on the skis and you can glide on snow beneath the northern lights.
And for those who dare there are Finland’s popular traditions to try out. Not content with saunas alone, the Finns sit in heated boxes before running outside to roll in the snow. This is just one of the quirky traditions that makes Finland so unique.
Finland is a fantastic year-round destination, and the best time to go depends on what you’d like to experience. For plenty of snow and winter activities, December to March is ideal. For springtime sun and the revival of nature after the winter, April to May is the period. For long and warm summer days and plenty of events, opt for June, July and August. For autumn leaf colour, visit in September-October.
