Zambia has long been a sought-after destination for adventure seekers and wildlife enthusiasts alike and has some of the greatest natural scenery on the continent.
It boasts iconic national parks such as Mosi-Oa-Tunya, Lower Zambezi and the South Luangwa which each have their own diverse appeal.
South Luangwa is famed as the home of the walking safari and is one of Africa’s most unspoiled wildlife reserves; the Lower Zambezi, a breathtakingly beautiful part of the country with the mighty Zambezi river running through it, is a haven for exhilarating land and water-based safaris; the lesser visited Kafue National Park is Zambia's largest and boasts one of the greatest diversities of wildlife in Africa while Victoria Falls offers a spectacle unmatched anywhere else and is one of the world’s great natural wonders.
For decades, our team at Abercrombie & Kent has pioneered one-of-a-kind luxury experiences. Zambia’s wealth of natural beauty and culture is something to be shared, and we’re proud to guide you through all its many splendours.

Marvel at the grandeur of the spectacular Mosi-oa-Tunya (the smoke that thunders), considered to be one of the world's largest waterfalls with a width of 1,708 metres. Experience this natural wonder from both banks of the Zambezi, cruise a stretch of the river below and explore the mist-soaked forest that surrounds the falls.
Take to the mighty Zambezi by canoe gliding silently along the banks with your expert river guide. Glimpse elephants coming to drink, the ripples of hippo resting beneath the surface and bee-eaters and skimmers as they duck and weave in the breeze. Refreshments are on hand as you travel from your own cooler box.
Lace up your boots in readiness for a walking safari in the South Luangwa, one of Zambia’s finest national parks and home of the walking safari. Its wildlife is prolific and especially exhilarating when encountered on foot as you track game more stealthily, with your local guide leading the way.
Wild and unfenced, Kafue is Zambia’s largest national park, yet is more rarely visited than its counterparts. Blessed with extraordinary diversity, game drives are a true revelation with sightings of Burchell’s zebra, waterbuck, hartebeest, Cape buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah and more. In the remote northwest, the grasslands of the Busanga Plains teem with herds of lechwe, antelope, wild dog, zebra and much more.
Challenged with limited employment opportunities, the women of the Nakatindi village partnered with A&K Philanthropy to launch a successful bike shop and a burgeoning beading studio and boutique. Meet the local artisans of Sishemo Studio, see how they craft traditional beads from recycled glass, and learn how they are empowering their families and community through entrepreneurship.
Zambia’s vast and rarely visited Liuwa Plains harbour a dizzying array of wildlife, from wildebeest to lion and cheetah. Birdwatching is spectacular from January to May, when migratory species darken skies. As there is only one permanent camp in this national park, expect every animal encounter to be exclusive.
Experience a night sleeping under the stars in a cosy bedroll. Drift off to roaring lion, whooping hyena and grunting hippo in Zambia’s South Luangwa wilderness. A chef, guide and scout accompany you on this adventurous addition to any safari, ensuring your night is as comfortable as it is memorable.

Zambia's elevation on a plateau gives it a moderate to tropical climate. There are three seasons; cool and dry from May to August, hot and dry from September to October and warm and wet from November to April. In May, the Victoria Falls are at their most spectacular, when water levels are high. The dry season is generally considered the best time to visit the South Luangwa when walking camps are open. And in the river valleys of the Zambezi and Luangwa it becomes very hot in the month of October. During winter, evening and early morning temperatures can be very cold.
