Take in all the thrilling front row action of the world’s greatest wildlife phenomenon as it plays out on the plains of the Serengeti. Capture the spectacle of nearly two million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle making the yearlong, round-trip trek in search of water and fresh grasses, with expectant predators in their wake.
Engage your senses on a thrilling walking safari in wild and remote Ruaha in southern Tanzania, one of Africa’s hidden gems. See the bush from a different perspective with your tracker spotting tiny creatures up close and larger rarities from a distance. Small and manoeuvrable, these little vehicles can be easily taken off the main tracks enabling more in-depth discovery. Your guide will take you to local farms, into homes and schools, working mills, churches and much more.
Visit A&K Philanthropy Project - Doffa Bike Shop - in Karatu, gateway to the Ngorongoro Crater. Established to provide training and employment for women, particularly those living with HIV, this bike shop is now open for business. Sales proceeds and donations empower women to earn an income and dismantle gender stereotypes.
Trek through Mahale Mountains National Park, led by local guides, in search of chimps. The park is one of two chimpanzee protected areas in the country with the largest number of these charismatic primates. The climate in Tanzania is typically warm all year round but do expect cool nights, especially in the Central Plateau. Coastal areas can be very hot and humid but benefit from a cool sea breeze between June and September. The area around Mount Kilimanjaro is generally cooler. The hottest time to visit is between October and February, and the rainy season falls mid-March to late May.
