Set on Lake Wanaka against the dramatic backdrop of the Southern Alps, Whare Kea Lodge is the perfect private retreat for up to 12 guests. With timeless interior styling, the lodge’s floor to ceiling windows are positioned to bask in the stunning vistas and the sun. Designed for relaxation, and with plenty of space, the large dining and lounge spaces boast a guest bar and open fireplace and the fully equipped kitchen is yours to enjoy, with private staff should you want them. An outdoor hot tub is the perfect place to soak up the scenery after a day of activity with alfresco seating areas, outdoor chimenea and BBQ. A billiard and games room offers further diversions.

All bedrooms have super king beds, walk-in wardrobes, premium furnishings plus access to outdoor decking with comfortable seating. Each has an en suite bathroom, with under-floor heating, walk-in shower, and deep bath positioned with views of the surrounding landscape.

A helipad on the front lawn makes winter and summer excursions easy to access.

Whare Kea Chalet, accessible by helicopter only, is nestled amongst the peaks of the Southern Alps. The highest luxury accommodation in New Zealand at 1750 metres, the chalet sits on the edge of the Mount Aspiring National Park with astounding views of Mt. Cook and Mt. Aspiring, sometimes referred to as the ‘Matterhorn of the South’. With two double bedrooms and a spacious loft, the chalet is the perfect exclusive use haven, offering indulgent accommodation for up to six guests. Four months of the year the area is covered in snow, making it the ideal base for heli-skiing. And in summer, the slopes are dotted with wildflowers and provide a range of fantastic hiking routes, for all abilities.
