First built in 1868, Puerto Valle was originally a manor house of Corrientes with just 13 comfortable and stately rooms. 14 hectares of landscaped gardens, home to an array of colourful and exotic plant species, surround the manor so you can truly reconnect with nature, a soothing refuge from urban existence. The Deluxe Rooms have a sleek and simple design to not take away from the views outside, and offer large king size beds, living area and outdoor terrace. All of the rooms have direct access to the Rio Paraná and its beaches. In summer, bask in the sunshine beside the pool or beneath the palapa, and in winter relax beside the roaring log fire. For dinner, the chef will prepare a sumptuous feast of traditional Argentine cuisine matched with some of the region's best wines.
The Ibera wetlands are the second largest wetland in the world, after Brazil's Pantanal, and are home to abundance of Argentina's wildlife. Marsh deer, pampas deer, Yacare caiman and brown-snouted caimen, capybara, maned wolf and river otter are just some of the creatures that inhabit here. Explore the surrounding marshlands, lakes and native forests by boat, kayak or on horse-back. With a strong focus on sustainability, the old estancia offers a host of forestry and cattle-raising activities as well as being home to the Yacaré Porá caiman farm.
